Activity vs. Impact Metrics

Understanding the distinction between activity and impact metrics is crucial for evaluating ERG effectiveness.

  • Activity Metrics: These metrics measure the quantity of ERG initiatives and efforts. They are easier to track but don't always reflect meaningful change. Examples include the number of events hosted, membership size, and social media posts.

  • Impact Metrics: These metrics measure the quality and consequences of ERG activities. They are more challenging to quantify but provide insights into the real value ERGs deliver. Examples include employee satisfaction, promotion rates, and policy changes influenced by ERGs.
